As a manufacturer of fire-resistant bricks, we’ve received numerous calls from customers asking: "How much do fire-resistant bricks weigh? What’s the weight of a firebrick?" The weight of a firebrick is determined by its bulk density, while the total weight of one ton of firebricks depends on both their individual bulk density and the number of bricks included.

Refractory bricks are widely used in various high-temperature equipment, where they endure physical and chemical corrosion under extreme heat conditions. The performance criteria for refractoriness must meet the following requirements: high fire resistance—since modern metallurgical and conventional industrial kilns typically operate at heating temperatures ranging from 1000°C to 1800°C—and the ability of refractory bricks to remain stable without easily melting at elevated temperatures.

High-temperature structural strength is crucial—refractory bricks must not only withstand high melting temperatures but also maintain excellent thermal stability under the mechanical loads imposed during furnace construction or other operational stresses. In industrial furnaces like metallurgical ovens, uneven temperature changes across different zones during operation can lead to inconsistent material behavior, generating internal stresses within the masonry that may cause cracking and spalling. Therefore, refractory bricks must be capable of resisting such damage effectively.

Refractory bricks are frequently exposed to corrosion from high-temperature furnace slag, metals, and dust during use. Therefore, refractory bricks must possess excellent resistance to high-temperature chemical erosion.
